Research impact and visibility: Bibliometric services

University library offers bibliometric services for the Tampere Universities

We offer publication metric services for the management of higher education community, faculties, education units, research groups and for the Tampere University Hospital, according to principles of responsibility and openness. We produce bibliometric reports for different purposes, e.g. to monitor the impact of research publications, support funding applications and recruitment processes. We advice researchers when utilizing publication metrics and responsible science publishing principles. Typically publication metrics is about:

  • Bibliometrics: scientific publication activity, the most cited publications and the linkages between citing articles.
  • Altmetrics: research visibility in social media and other online platforms.
  • Datametrics: impact and visibility of research data.

We also have ORCID-support and we offer guidance in other researcher visibility services.

  • supporting research assessment and knowledge management,
  • university funding models,
  • measuring the productivity of the university research output,
  • university rankings,
  • recruiting.
