Dimensions Analytics training session

Wednesday, 25 September 2024 at 14.00–15.00. Zoom link available on the Intranet 

The briefing is aimed at members of the higher education community who are interested in the Dimensions Analytics application. This training, hosted by the Digital Science will provide the basics of the features and use of Dimensions Analytics.

The library has purchased Dimensions database for use by the Tampere Universities community. Dimensions is a research analytics tool developed and provided by Digital Science. It offers linked data from publications, grants, datasets, policy documents, online mentions, clinical trials, and patents.

After the briefing:

  • you are familiar with Dimensions
  • you have learned about the principles of Dimensions.

Scopus AI briefing

Monday, 21 October 2024 at 10.00–11.00. Zoom link available on the Intranet 

The briefing is aimed at members of the higher education community who are interested in the Scopus AI application. This briefing, hosted by the Elsevier, will provide the basics of the features and use of Scopus AI.

The library has purchased Elsevier's Scopus AI for use by the entire higher education community. Scopus AI makes use of Scopus data and is based on natural language processing. You can communicate with it in natural language, without precise subject headings or Boolean operators. 

After the briefing:

  • you are familiar with Scopus AI
  • you have learned about the principles of Scopus AI.

The briefing will be given by an Elsevier trainer. Briefing is recorded. 

Perspectives on citizen science

Tuesday, 12 November 2024 at 10.15–11 Zoom link (log in with TUNI account)

Training is targeted at members of the higher education community who are interested in citizen science as a phenomenon and as a possibility, or whose research involves citizen science.

After the training, you will be familiar with:

  • What citizen science is
  • What are the considerations related to citizen science as a research method
  • What are the prospects and challenges of citizen science
  • What kind of tools there are, and where to find them, to implement citizen science from your own perspective: guidelines, resources

Trainers work as information specialists at Tampere University Library. Training is an online training session in Zoom. Training will not be recorded.
