Scopus AI briefing

The training is aimed at members of the higher education community who are interested in the Scopus AI application. 

The library has purchased Elsevier's Scopus AI for use by the entire higher education community. Scopus AI makes use of Scopus data and is based on natural language processing. You can communicate with it in natural language, without precise subject headings or Boolean operators. 

After the briefing:

  • you are familiar with Scopus AI
  • you have learned about the principles of Scopus AI.

The training is provided by information specialists at Tampere University Library. The training takes place in Zoom and is not recorded.

Welcome to a short session to refresh your information searching skills! Explore the library's guides and databases.

After the training, you will have learnt how to do the following:

  • Find library materials, guides and databases
  • You will be able to use library guides, including the information search guide, which provides instructions on the different stages of an information search
  • You will be able to search for references and explore the analysis tools in the reference databases Scopus and Web of Science
  • Know what Sage Methods Research is
  • Find further guidance and know where to ask for help if you need it

 

Introduction to citizen science

Wednesday 2nd April 2025 at 10.15-11.00 Zoom link available on the Intranet

Training is targeted at any member of the higher education community who is interested in citizen science as a phenomenon and research activities. Through this training, you can get a general overview of citizen science.

After the training, you will:

  • Be familiar with what citizen science is and why it matters
  • Know the role of a citizen scientist
  • Be familiar with the considerations related to citizen science as a research method
  • Find the tools to implement citizen science from your own perspective: guidelines, resources, citizen science projects  

Trainers work as information specialists at Tampere University Library. Training is an online session in Zoom and will not be recorded.
