Research and researchers are of interest to the public. As doctoral dissertations are an important part of the scientific output of the University, it is important that there is readily available information on dissertations.
Communications specialists publish all dissertation press releases as events on the University’s web page and intranet. Selected Finnish-language press releases to the Finnish media are sent via the Finnish News Agency STT’s press release distribution system. It is also a good idea to share a link to your public defence event on your own social media channels.
Communications specialists select the doctoral dissertation press releases that are forwarded to the media according to news criteria. Please bear in mind that all media have their own editorial policy that determines which stories they will cover.
You can also be proactive and pitch your story idea to your own media contacts or to specialist magazines in your field.
