Research impact and visibility: ORCID Identifier

ORCID identifier

ORCID logo     Open Researcher and Contributor ID

According to Open Science Guidelines at the Tampere higher education community -document, each researcher should acquire an international ORCID researcher identifier and use it in all scientific activities. The international ORCID identifier will provide you with a permanent and unique digital identifier, series of numbers that will distinguish you from other researchers.

Why ORCID?

ORCID researcher iD

  • enables identifying researchers across organisations
  • can also be linked to other types of researcher IDs. When this feature is activated in the ORCID service, information about an author’s publications will be automatically transferred from reference databases (Web of Science, Scopus) to their ORCID profile.
  • ORCID identifier will follow the researcher during their entire career, from one affiliation to another and from one country to another.
  • enables searching publications in Web of Science and Scopus

Add and connect your ORCID with CRIS

ORCID-identifier is important to connect with SoleCRIS / TUTCRIS.

At the moment ORCID-CRIS -integration is possible with TUTCRIS, when works will be updated automatically to ORCID. It is important to add the iD to SoleCRIS as well. In SoleCRIS you can find the field for iD in your own profile information page.

Read instructions to add and connect your ORCID with TUTCRIS:
