CRIS Guide in English: Reporting

VIRTA publication information service

All publication data saved in TUTCRIS and SoleCRIS is sent automatically to the national VIRTA publication information service on a daily basis.

VIRTA publication information service is part of the Finnish data warehouse of universities. VIRTA is a data hub that complies bibliographic information of all scientific publications from all Finnish universities, universities of applied sciences, research institutes and university hospitals. The Ministry of Education and Culture collects publication statistics from VIRTA annually. The publication data in VIRTA is also used in Academy of Finland reporting.

All publication data sent to VIRTA is displayed in JUULI publication information portal. Statistical data on publications reported to the Ministry of Education data collection is published annually in Vipunen education statistics portal.

Changes in classifications affect reporting

The Ministry of Education publication type classification has been in use since 2010 and it has been updated annually. Therefore similar publications from different years don't necessarily appear in the same Ministry of Education publication categories, or the Ministry of Education publication category is not visible in all older publications.
